MAN OVERBALANCES WHEN TRYING TO CATCH HAT AUCKLAND FATALITY

• Auckland, Tuesday. Fatal injuries were received by an unmarried retired farmer John Ross, aged 64, to-day when he f e-11 from the j overhead bridge at Mt. Eden. ! Ross was sitting on the bridge and i apparently lost his balanee, falling I heavily to the grass below. At an inquest opened to-day, Syli via Braddock; aged 11, said that she i was standing outside her home when j she saw a man sitting on the railing of the bridge facing the road. The ! man appeared to be rolling a cigarI ette when his hat blew off. He turned ■ to catch it bnt overbalanced and fell off the bridge. The inquest was adjourned.
