St. Luke's Ladies' Guild At the last meeting of the St. Luke's Ladies' Guild it was decided to hold the annual sale of work in the Parish Hall on Wednesday, December 6, and an energetic committee already had arrangements well in hand for this fnnction. A Big Picture A picture of outstanding interest, "The Secret of the Blue Room," has been booked for screening at the Majestic Theatre, Rotorua, on next Friday and Saturday. This is one of j the "talkie" sensations of the sea- j son, and is sure to attract big honses. i It was particularly popular in Anck- j land where it concluded on September 14 a continhous rnn of 18 performances at the St. James. Rotorua is lucky to obtain such an early release of the film after the big city. Correction In a report of the annual general meeting of the Old Boys' Cricket Club published in yesterday's "Post" the president elected for the ensuing season was incorrectly stated to be Mr. E. T. Johnson instead of Mr. S. T. Johnston e. I Saturday's Wrestling Matc'h Since ringside reserved seat book^ ings opened for the wrestling match between Hal Rumberg and Count
Varga in the A. and P. Building next Saturday night, it has been indicated that the seating capacity of the stadium will again be taxed to its-utmost. For this match the ringside ' seats have been raised from the floor to ensure an uninterrupted view * f or patrons. In addition to ringside reserves saies of tickets at 5s 6d and 2s 9d are now being made by the secretary, Mr. L. Fisher, F.enton Street. Rumberg and Varga have not yet met in the ring and at Wellington on Monday Rumberg wrestled an exciting draw with Harry Mamos. Cricket Meeting To-night Preparations for the early commencement of the cricket season will be made at the annual general meeting of the Rotorua Cricket Association to be held in the Citizens' Club rooms this evening. The annual report, which was published in last Saturday's "Post" discloses a satisfaet_ory past season and indications of further succes during the coming years. Most clubs have held their general meetings and appointed their delegates to the association. Friendshjp Totvards Dominion Speaking at the luncheon of the Rotorua Rotary Club yesterday, Dis-trict-Governor T. C, List remarked upon the feeling- of friendship which existed in America towards the New Zealander. He said that this regard had been less expected in America than in England, where the regard of the people for the Dominion was also very high.
