DAMAGES SOUGHT FOR ALLEGED SEDUCTION OF GIRL ALLEGATIONS DENIED
— By Telegraph— Copyright).
Edmonton, Sept. 24. A statement of claim has been filed in the Supreme Court of Alberta asking unstated demages from the Preniier of Alberta, Mr. J. E. Brownlee for the alleged seduction of Vivienne MacMillan, the daughter of a former mayor of Edmonton, Mr. Allari MacMillan. The offences are alleged to have occurred in 1930 when the girl was said to be 18 years old. Mr. Brownlee, over the long-dist-ance 'phone from Ottawa where he is attending as a member of the Canadian Royal Commission on banking, said that while he regretted having to face a case of this kind, it would enable him to get to grips with the lumours which had been circulated regarding him during the past six weeks. There was no word of truth in the allegations.
