The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their Matamata stock sale- yesterday when only a small yarding of sheep was penned, prices being firm at Frankton rates. A good yarding of fat cattle sold at increased prices over last sale. Store cattle remained unchanged. The advertised lines of yearling heifers met with good competition and practically a total clearance was effected. A smaller yarding of dairy heifers came forward, extra choice sorts meeting with good competition. The demand for more. backward and smaller heifers was poor. Pigs: An extra heavy yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward, values being easily up to late quotations on all classes of pigs. Quotations: — Sheep. — Fat ewes, 17s 6d to 17s 9d; medium fat hoggets, 19s 9d; light fat hoggets, 14s.
