(Rec. 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, Sept. 22. It has been decided that the Australian XI to tour England shall sail by the Orford leaving Fremantle on March 26 and arriving at London on April 26. The team will return by the Orontes leaving London on September 29. The team will assemble in Melbourne prior to departure and play two matches in Tasmania and one in Perth with a further match at Ceylon en route or at Aldershot against the Army. The manager will re-eeive an allowance of £650, the treasurer £600 and the players each £600 payable in instalments and in the currency of the country in which the instalment is due. The M.C.C. proposes that the tests shall begin at 11.30 a.m. on the first day and at 11 a.m. on suceeeding days, ceasing at 6.30 p.m. daily. The Australian board, however, desires that the tests should begin at 11.30 a.m. daily and has cabled the M.C.C. accordingly. The board agrees on the point that the tests shall be limited to four days, hut agrees that if the f ate of the ashes is involved, the fifth test shall be played to a finish.
