MASONIC BALL

LODGE'S FIRST FUNCTION FOR MANY YEAR3 BRILLIANT SUCCESS. ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS. A triumph' of splendid organisation and forethought, the Masoriic Ball, whieh was held in the Majestic Ballroom last Wcdnesday evening, proved to be quite one of the most- enjoyiable balls to be held this season. The successful result is largely due to the , capable committce which was respon- , sible for all the hundred and one things a ball of this nature demands. I It is many years since the Rotorua I lodge has held a ball, but Wednesday night's success fully justified the inziovatiozi. The decoratians w. re a special feature of the ball, the niyriad fairy lighting effects giving warmth nd | coloi^r to the more subdued back- \ ground of greenery and tall ferns, the latter formiizg a canopy effect at each i tnd of the ballroom, the ferns being , arranged in stands decorated in mas- ! onic blue. The illuminated Masonic emhlem had a place of prominence , above the orchestral reeess, where the Ritz dance band was in popular deniand throughout the evening. In the supper-room, the decorations were mainly carried out with streameis of light ancl dark blue, with ferns adorning the walls.
