The Government meteoroloplsrt iseued the following weather report and forecaat imst night:— Ge'neral Situation: The trough of the recent depression has now moved to the east of the Dominion, but a secondary centre has been located to-day over the North Islarid. An ,anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea but a slight low pressure wave is crossing Tasmania. Wi'rtds: Westerly at first north of New Plymouth and Napier, otherwise southerly to south-west prevailing. Moderate to strong generally and squally at times about Cook Strait and along the East Coast but moderating to-morrow. Weather: Cloudy and unsettled from Nelson and Marlborough northwards with further rain and some heavy falls in the North island. Elsewhere changeable with scattered showers. Cold temperatures but co'n. ditions improvihg to-morrow.
