LETTERS TO COLLEEN

New Miembers. ' Dear Colleen, — Here I am again th'is week, late as per usual, bnt just in time to catch' che bus, I hope. I've handed in another 11 names for enrolment. I hope you don't mind theni not writing, but I'll explain. At different times I have mentioned to them about joining. They were Eeen about it, ' but were * afraid they couldn't write much, but I told them they would find other things in the page that would interest them and all the competitions would not be writing ones. Yes, that sounded all right, but it was left to' me to find out their ages and So forth, and then I wrote them down on paper; so I would not forget them. You may wonder why I put my address on most of their forms. Well, I was determined to get them, so I just wrote out the forms to-night, putting in my address in the case where I couldn't remember the correct one. I don't suppose it really matters, because I will deliver them to the girls at school. However, in case it does, I shall find out the correct addresses and send them into you next week. Oh, and another thing. Some other person may have handed in the same 'names as I have. Well, it doesn't mat" ter in my case, because I don't suppose I really deserve to have any of

them as new members to my credit. I am afraid that what I have been writing down must seem to be an awful muddle, but I apologise. And I'm awfully excited now that the points in the gramophone competion are becoming closer. As you have said, a close eompetition is much more interesting and I think so, too. In another envelope yon will find my entry for that Animal ABC eompetition. Although I tried awfully hard with it, I am afraid it isn't as good as it might have been. However, I may have better luck next time. Oh, Colleen, I saw where you mentioned about having a Poet's Corner. I can write poetry a bit, not much, of course, but still, a start would be . a start, and to have a Poet's- Corner would give quite a lot of children a chance of doing something', who are not much good at prose. I am afraid I will have to close now. ZENO AURELIA.
