The Government meteoroloplat issued the following weather report and forecast !eet niyht: — General situation: Another intense depression of the present series is advancing across the Tasman Sea, while an anti-cyclone extends over . the North jasman Sea and the 'north of New Zealand: Winds: Moderate to strong. Northerly to north-westerly of gaie force in places. Weather: Miid to fine in eastern districts; elsewhere unsettled ahd squally with heavy rain in placesand fiooding likely on the West Coast of the South Island. Temperatures miid. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Goyernment Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department fpr the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.149i'ns. Thermometer (max.) 59.3deg. Thermometer (min.) 47.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 34.3deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 6.5hrs.
