THE COMPETITIONS
FOR NEXT WEEK. * i( Perhaps you have noticed that the Borough Council Advancement Committee is offering a special prize for the grown-up sending in the best suggestions for the Christmas Carnival. I think that our membei's should have some ideas on this suhject also, and I am offering a prize this week for the best letter making suggestions for the camival from the children's point of view. There are special prizes offered for children's fancy dresses and a sports day is held for the younger folk, hut some of you may have other ideas that would make the carnival more interesting for you. I would not be at all surprised if some of you make suggestions that will be really interesting1 to the carnival committee. I have decided to test the Junior's ahility at writing verse and the points in the gramophone competition will go to the best original verse com'position sent in. They need not be lengthy and you can choose your own subjects, Juniors.
