( D is for Donkey*with a eross on its j I hack, E is for Elephant, with a trunk it , I can't pack. i F is for Fox, a cunning little fellow, !' | G is for Giraffe, all neck and no j hellow. H is for Hippo, whose mouth is not ' I narrow, ; j I is for Ibex, as swift as an arrow. | J is for Jaguar, all dotted with' spots, } K is for Kangaroo, with its kick and •its hops. • j L is for Lion, the king of the jungle, M is for Monkey, a mischievous hundle. N is for Nandu, the American Rhea, f I 0 is for Ocelot, the cat that we fear. j P is for Panther, fso stealthy and . cruel, ' Q is for Quagga, like Zebra, not mule. I R is for Rhino, with such a fat tummy, | S is for Seal, who likes to be chummy. T is for Tiger, the terror of Bengal, ' U is for Urubu, the Black Vulture we ! call. I V is for Vampire, the blood sucking bat, ! W is for Wolves, which roam in a pack. X is for Kissing, the Love Bird's game, Y is for Yak, the ox with a mane. Z is for Zebra, with markings so true, Now what do you think of your trip to the Zoo? SEC0ND AWARD. F is for Ferret, who hunts for its ! prey, G is for Giraffe, so tall and so gay. TI stands for Hyena, who cries out - so loud, I is Ibex, from the mountain clouds. J is for Jackal, who runs from the
fray, : K is the Kangaroo, leaping away. '■ L is for Llama, who resembles the ' j Camel, ' M is for Monkey, a frolicksome mam-. I mai. N looks like neutral, but Neddy will do' l The Donkey who stops when you don't want him to. 0 is for Orang-outang, who resembles a man, P is for Puma, who likes flesh when he can. Q is for Quagga, I heard that exists, ' R is the Racoon, seldom seen and we'll missed. S stands for Setter, a dog or a hound, T is the Tiger hunters shoot down. U secms uncertain, it's got.me in knots, V is for Vulpine, it's much like the fox. W stands for weasel, at wai* he's the boss, X here again, has got me quite cross. Yis the Yak, a sure-footed beast, Z is Zibet, which enjoys a good fcast. •
