VERDICT OF SUICIDE
Christchurch, Fl'iday. At the inquest on Detective-Ser-geant F. O'Brien, the coroner, Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., returned a verdict of death due to suicide while in a state of deep mental depression. Police officers stated in evidence that O'Brien was a strong man, mentally and physieally, but had recently been sbowing signs of strain as the result of overwoi'k.
