Winds: Southerly, north of Kawhia and Napferj elsewhere north and 'north-westerly. Moderate generally, but strong at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts and generally milder but with showers develo'ping on the west coast of the South Island and in the far south Following are the .baroirreterr maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dinga recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
