LORD DERBY SECURES HIS FIFTH ST. LEGER VICTORY WON EAS.ILY London, Sept. 13. The race for the St. Leger, run today, resulted: — HYPERION 1 FELICITATION 2 J SCARLET TIGER 3 Fourteen started. , Won by three lengths with a neclf separating second and third. The St. Leger proved a one-horse racc, Hyperion winning eas.ily. The much boomed Thor never got near him and the others never mattered. Weston merely had to sit still while the colt bowled along with delightful laction. Weston also rode Hyperion in the Derby. He now holds the record of j 10 classic wins, compared with Child's nine. This is Lord Derby 's fifth St. Leger victory, and it was immensely popular. Breaking his rule of never talking* : after a success, the owner said "f am glad it is all over. There has been talk of slimming cures, but the St. Leger, when ^your horse is the favourite, slims you more quickly than ' all treatments and is not so txpensive."
