AMERICANS CELEBRATE NATIONAL RECOVERY DAY

(Rec. 12.10 p.m.) New York, Sept. 13. The city observed a National Recovery holiday to-day as over a million spectators applauded 250,000 marchers who streamed up Fifth Avenue. The parade lasted over 10 hours and it was late at night before the last marcher had passed the reviewing stand. A thousand banners proclaimed tbe services participatifig in the recovery programme. A few marchers attacked Mr. Henry Ford and urged that none of his automobiles should be purchased until he signed the eode. General Hugh Johnson, director of the National Recovery programme, indicated that he intended to allow the present situation with regard to Mr. Ford to maintain its status quo and pointed out that Mr. Ford had not yet actually violated the code.
