STRAIGHTENING THE THAMES
London, Sept. 13. Dr. Miles Walker, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Manchester ^ University propounded a seheme to the British Association for the straightening of the bed of the Thames. The enhancement of the site values, he claims, would pay the cost of the constructional work. The spaces' above the railway ought to be used for arterial roads.
