VIEWS ON CURRENCY
(To the Editor). Sir> — I notice that our esteemed ■ member of the -House of Rep^esen .- . tivc-s has been airing his researches on the views of others on the cnirency question; the majority of your 1 readers would be more interested in , hearing our member deliver his long : overdue post-sessional account of h:s stewardship or, as another session is i nigh, perhaps he could deliver a pre- 1 sessional forecast. However, since •, he has raised the question of currency, the writer has a distinct recol- | lection of our worthy meipber, at least three years ago, advocating an increased note issue of at least two . millions per year until prosperity returned (or an election was over). j Taking the point of view of our member as being based on sound pre- . mises (and who would suggest that ; >they are not) we are now six million j behind witli our note issue. Does he j then propose that we should issue this ' six millions now in one great gesture to cthe jobless multitude or is that six millions \ which should have been ! "issued under the honourable gentle-
man's scheme to be permanently lost? — I dm, etc. BLACK CROW OR BLUE EAGLE. Ngongotaha, Sept. 9, 1933.
