DOG ATTACKS GIRL

.ALSATIAN'S VICIOUSNESS. A savage attack was made by an Alsatian dog at Sheffield, England, recently, on its mistress, Miss Joyce Rowe, aged 17, of Brookhill, who was badly injured. Her arm was nearly severed, and she suffered a wound in one of her legs. Some boys knocked on the gate at the entrance to the yard of Miss Rowe's house, and the dog became infuriated. Miss Rowe went to quieten it, and it turned on her, and, knocking her to the ground, worried her. The girl's screams brought neighbours out of their houses, but they were powerless to help her, because the yard is surrounded by high walls, and the gate was shut. Eventually the girl's mother pulled the dog away.
