MANX JUNIOR GRAND PRIX WON BY MUNKS A RECORD ESTABLISHED

Londo-n, September 5. •. A Munks on a Veloeette won the Manx Junior Grand Prix tourist trophy :at the record average speed of 74.14 miles an hour over 226 mfies. F, Frith', on a Norton was second at 72.13 miles per hour and Pirie on a Norton was third at 72.02 miles per hour. Pirie bumped along at a terrific speed for some miles with a flat tyre. The competitors numbered 48_ and included undergraduates, professional men, tradesmen, mechanics, and one man whose daily occupation is to drive a steam roller at three miles an hour.
