MR. MONTAGU NORMAN MEETS U.S.A. FINANCIAL HEADS HINTS ON STABILISATION

-By Telegraph— Copyright).

(Rec. 7 p.m.) New York, August 29 Mr. Montagu Norman, Governor of the Bank of England, after opening a series of conversations with Government officials at Hyde Park, stayed on an hour or more but did not engage Mr. Roosevelt in private. conversations concerning internatiohal financial matters. Although Mr. Norman kept the nature of his business secret, it is reported that he suggested the advisability of dollar and pound stabilisation. It is also understood that this was again tentatively rejeeted hy State Department officials pending the outcome of the domestic recovery policy. It _ is suggested that Mr. George Plarrison, Governor of the Federal Bank of the United States, has been discussing with Mr. Norman the advisability of the stabilisation of currency in foreign exchange, but not the slightest hint has been given here that Mr Roosevelt feels that the time is ripe for this.
