SINGER'S WIDOW
MRS. CARUSO REMARRIED AT PARIS REGISTRY OFFICE. Mrs. DorOtliy Caruso, widow of the great tenor, was married in Paris last month to Mr. C. A. Holder, the well-lcnown banker and retired American diplomat. Mr. Holder was vicej consul in London at the! cutbreak of the Great War in 1914. j After the ceremony the couple left !
by car for the bridegroom's fine old Chateau d'Ury, in the Seine-and-Marne country, for the honeymoon. The-wedding took place quietly in the registry office in which Miss Bar•bara Hutton, heiress to the Wool- ; worth fortune, was recently married to Prince Alexis Mdivani. It was entirely a family affair. Mrs. Caruso was accompanied by Mrs. George j Howland and Mr. Holder by his law- ! yer. They were followed by Miss | Peggy Holder and Miss Gloria CaI ruso, who is 13 years of aige. j As Mrs. Caruso does not speak French, an official carefully explained ■ to her the eight documents which had to be signed. When she had attached her signature she turned to her daughted and said: "Isn't this exciting?" There was no religious ceremony. Caruso died in 1921. His widow, who was the daughter of a wealthy New York lawyer, married in 1923, Captain E. A. Ingram, but two years later the marriage was dissolved.
