Major on the Wairarapa Age, froip 1904 te 1908 he oyrned t.he Patea Press and in 1911 he started the Frankiin -Times at Pukekohe with Mr. R: J. EaihaS 'and in 191-5' he pur^ chased the Moi'f irisville 1 Star.' This business he turned into a company under the style of the Cargill Pablishing €o, and in addition to the Starthe Matamataf RWord -and -Putararir Press are also pu'blish1. Mr.: Cargill whs keenly interested 'in all forms of sport and took a prominent part in the public life of the district. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Mrs. N. J. Howie, of Kiwitahi and the Misses A. and D. Cargill, of Morrinsville.
