THE MORNING POST BOX

Colleen sends brief answers to Kosy Korner members: — Frances Clay, Meade St.— Too late for last week's K.K.K., Frances, but it will do just as well this time, as the competition for the Juniors is the same as last week. I can just picture that wonderful holiday at the Mount and can quite understand how you must have enjoyed every mofnent of it. A little bird told me that you are going for a holiday to Auckland, so don't forget to write to Colleen when you come back and tell her all aboutj your trip. Firefly, Seddon St. — Thank you ever so much for that interesting letter. I feel I know this new Kosy Korner member ever so much better now. .Yes, eertainly, you are eligible to enter for the new membership competition, so start straight off the mark and see how many new members you can enrol before the competition closes. Busy Bee, Tutanekai St. — Such a lovely fat budget from you this week, Busy Bee, and really I laughed heartily over the funny stories you sent' in. Fun Corner will love them. What a jolly week-end you had. I think it was a lovely idea hiking round to Kawaha Point and no doubt it has made you very keen for more such enjoyable walks during these holiday s. Many thanks for the kisses. Peter Pan, Tutanekai St. — Well, I think you will have just as enjoyable holidays at home instead of going away if it all plans out to be as jolly as the last week-end you told me about, Peter. I quite expect to see your letter awaiting me each week now and I'm quite sure this loyal little pen-friend of mine will not let me be disappointed. Thank you ever so much for the joke and also those six nice kisses. Bumblebeel, Hinemoa St — Welcome to Kosy Korner, Bumblebee, and we hope you will enjoy being a member just as much as we are delighted to have you. I had quite a la.ugh over that joke you sent in, and I know Fun Corner will be "pleased to have it. Why not try in the Junior's competition next week? Jeaii Millar, Eruera St. — Such a i nice neat entry for the "Cars and Lorries," and quite correct, Jean, only ,Red Rose happened to race you to the winning post by a day. Never mind, better luck next time. Are

you fond of writing poetry, because if so, Kosy Korner would love any'thing in that line that you send in. Don't forget next week's competition. ' It's your turn for the gramophone points next week. Rpxane, Tarewa Road. — What a loyal member we have here — a foundation one, too, and; not one week has she missed writing to the K.K.K. Your "Cars and Loi'ries" was a very good attempt and the names in the majority of cases were quite correct. I know it was a hard one, but I think you all did very well indeed. I hope next week's competition you will find easier. Strong Oak, Hinemoa St. — Did one of those f airies you told me of a few weeks ago whisper in my ear that our Strong Oak had been sick ? I do hope you are feeling ever so 'much better now. Your essay is very good indeed and if you put your plans into practice I ara sure you would have the happiest and jolliest of times. Zeno Aurellia? James St. — Yes, Zeno, I really did think you had forgotten all about the Kosy Korner last week and wondered what could have happened, but now you have told me the whole sad tale of woe I can sympathise with you deeply. Your competition entry was almost correct and a very good attempt for such a hard one. I'm afraid I'm a bit inclined to leave everything to the last minute, too, and am quite convinced from many experiences that it does not pay. Blue Bird, Union St. — A very good competition entry indeed, Blue Bird, i and shows that you have thought deeply upon your holiday. If I were ! you I would want to do exactly all the j things that ~you talk about in your i letter. Red Rose, Union St. — Two good ! jokes, Red Rose, which I am sure the ! Fun Corner wil appreciate very much. J You did not seem to have had much | trouble fitting in .those cars and lor- j ries and I must compliment you upon sending in a very correct entry. Shamrock, Ranolf St. — I thought I you had quite forgotten us, Sham- . rock, for you haven't written lately, ! but then I kiiow exams were the main ! cause of most of our member's sil- ] ence. What a well planned, holiday. ! I have been over the tour you sug- I gest for thc North Island and can firmly recommend it, but I have not j been so far as the towns you propose !

in the South Island, but I'm sure it would be a beautiful, and most interesting trip. Mitzi, Ranolf St. — I hope you liked that lovely book you won last week, Mitzi. Do write and tell me what you think of it when you have finished reading it. Your "Cars and Lorries" was almost correct, but when you see the correct version you will see for yourself where you slipped

in one or two places. Don't forget next week's competition. Wild Rose, Hinemoa St. — I will eertainly do as you ask and send Kosy Korner birthday greetings to Jocelyn Houghton at King George V. Hospital. Tell her we sh'all love to welcome her as a member as soon as she is well enough to join our happy cirele. A very good attempt with this week's competition, Wild Rose. It was almost right, only in one or two places does it differ from the original. Don't forget that poetry you promised me. You see I am keeping you up to your word, aren't I? Pixie, Sophia St. — I am ever so glad that you have decided to beeome one of us at last, Pixie, and we hope you will like the K.K.K. more than ever now that you are an active member. I will look forward to those riddles and jokes you promise me as soon as the danee is over. Yes, I know the competition was somewhat difiieult, but you made a very gallant attempt, Pixie. Peppercorn, Ngongotaha. — So glad you have written again this week, and although some of the cars and lorries you used do not fit in exactly with our original copy, they do equally as well. Anyway, we will make next week's competition easier to compensate you all for the hard brain work you must have had to do for this time. Robin Hood, Whakaue St. — You all seemed to think Colleen was expecting a lot of you this week in setting such a hard competition, but you have managed it so well that I think my Kosy Korner members are very clever indeed. Yes, our family is growing larger each week, Robin, ' but there is still room for lots more yet. How about you trying to win that special prize by collecting the most new members in the specified time? Red Rjding Hood, Whaka Road. — Well done, Red Riding Hood, collecting all those new • members for Kosy Korner. You have a good lead in that special prizp nqw, but don't let that prevent you from more conquests for that competition, for I'm sure you still have lots and lots of little friends who would like to beeome members- when you told them all about our page. I got every one of- those nice kisses you enclosed at the bottom of your letter.

Stumpy, Whaka Road. — You have ehosen a good boy's pen-name, Stumpy, and we are all very glad to welcome you to Kosy Korner. You are the third one now of the family, that has joined our happy band. I was very interested in all you had to say about pussy and Glen, for I am very fond of animals. Unfortunately I haven't a kitty at present, but I always like to hear about everyone else's, especially my K. K. K. member's pets. Boy Blue, Maidia Vale St. — We are all so glad you have decided to beeome a member of the K.K.K., Boy Blue, and hope you will enjoy our page even better now you have beeome one of us yourself. I am going to keep you up to your promise of writing to me often, for I just love getting letters at Kosy Korner. Don't forget the competitions next week. Patricia Postlewaight, Maida Vale 1 St. — So sorry, Pat, but we already have a Wendy at Kosy Korner, so ! could you think of another name ? How about Cherryblossom, Sunshine, Rose Marie, or something like that? I'm sure mother will be able to think of another nice pen-name for you. How very nicely and neatly you write and I will look forward to a letter from you in the mailbag next week. Golden Wings, Wylie St. — A very warm welcome to this new member, and I hope, Golden Wings, you will write to Kosy Korner very often. I am. sure pussy must be a darling. What is his name? Don't forget to

enter for the competition next week. I Happy, Wylie St. — Ah, this sounds ! a very cheery new member, judging i from his jolly pen-name. A very 1 hearty welcome, Happy, and now that ! Red Riding Hood has told you all j | about our page, I hope you will write | often and enter for the competition j each week. j Anza, Koutou. — A good attempt at 1 the "Cars and Lorries," Anza. There i were just a few slips which you will ! be able to see for yourself when you [ read the correct version. Have you any pets, because I would love you to I tell me all about them. j William the Conqueror, Rotokawa. — 'Good old William, a most creditable entry for the competition, but it was just a wee bit late in reaching Kosy Korner in order to be the winning entry. How splendidly you print. Your ! entry is quite a masterpiece in this art. Did you like the competition. I ! thought it was quite interesting mak- j ' ing all the different cars and lorries \ I fit in in their correct places, didn't i j you? Fluff, Wairoa Road. — I have been hoping that you would write again, Fluff. Two very good jokes you sent I

in. They just squeezed into Fun Corner, for your letter did not arrive until Thursday evening. Won't you give this week's competition a trial? ....Princess Pat., Old Taupo Road. — Splendid having so many sisters in the Page. Makes it so much more interesting, I think, don't you? I j am quite sure that you can beat Snowdrop if you try hard enough. I shall look forward to receiving an entry from you this week and I am posting your membership card. Snowdrop, Old Taupo Road. — Sorry Snowdrop. Your entry was good, but it was much too late. The winning entry came in on Tuesday afternoon, and yours did not arrive unt'il Thursday evening. First opened, first served. Lillian Ross, Seddon St. W. — I thought perhaps you. had forgotten us, Lillian. Your entry arrived with Snowdrop's in the late batch' on Thursday evening, so that you missed the bus this time. Better luck next week. •
