London, Aug. 24. At Scarborough, in the North _ of England lawn tennis championships, in the third round Alan Stedman (New Zealand) surprisingly defeated the titleholder, Lyttelton Rogers, the Irish giant, 5 — 7, 6 — 3, 6 3.
