The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe will pay a short visit of five days to Christchurch about the end of next month, arriving about . Septemher 28 and leaving on the following Monday. His Excellency will open the Canterbury Horticultural Spring Flower . Show on the day of arrival and the following evening will attend the an- [ nual dinner Of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. Their Excellencies have expressed a wish to identify themselves during their stay with the efforts of social workers, in particular those who are endeavouring to relieve poverty in the city, and suggest that arrangements be made for them to visit the relief depots.
