Team Selected The -following team has been selected to represent Rotorua against Matamata on Saturday next: — Fullback, Martin; three-quarters, Waerea, Morrison, Graham; five-eighths, Pipson and Hakopa; half, T. Maru; forwards, Emery, Te Ngaio, Solomon, Rogers, Heke, Lennard, Te Purei and Mackie. Emergencies: Backs, Hupa, Manahi; forwards, McDougall and Cooper. Milking at Ngakuru The advance of the dairy season is well-marked on the Ngakuru development area. On the liome, or demonstration farm 58 cows are being milked and the 12 share-milking holdings are carrying about 30 each. Every head of stock on the area is looking well, the winter having been passed with a very normal feeding of hay and ensilage. On all sides there is evidence of early spring growth. R.S.A. Social The second social evening of the series arranged by the Rotorua branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association will take place in the Druids' Hall to-morrow evening. A capital programme has been arranged. Mrs. J. Wilson had been invited to act as an associate member on the library purchasing sub-committee. N.Z.C.D. Tramway Board's revenue. The following accompanying letter explains why: "Enclosed two penny stamps — payment for journey made on the tram from cricket ground to city on day of Test match in April. Already telegrams have been received from the Bay of Plenty for reserves but the plan will not be out until to-morrow. The Rotoroa. Association is very fortunate in getting what is considered the star professional match of New Zealand. It has also booked the best amateur match for a preliminary. This will he between Higgins and Way, of Auckland, two light-heavyweights, who have had four bouts, resulting in a win each and two draws. Amongst the other preliminaries will be a contest between 'PSlkington .'(Rotorua) and Williamson (Auckland) who wrestled to an exciting draw in Ro- ' torua some time ago. Whaka Sewerage The Rotorua Borough Council last evening received the following report from the drainage engineer (Mr. F. J. Lenihan) npon the progress of the Whakarewarewa sewerage scheme: — (1) The venting of all the thermal sections through which the pipe lines have passed has been completed. (2) The laying of pipe fittings and placing of concrete floors for all the conveniences in the pa area will be completed in two day's time. (3) Fifteen manholes have been constructed in the outer area.
