Sydney, Aug. 17. There is a mild influenza epidemic in Sydney, but in Newcastle the outhreak is more serious. All businesses are operating with depleted staffs. Over 200 employees of Lysaghts are affected. The staff of the Newcastle hospital has suffered severely. Being prostrated with a serious attaclc, a family of father, mother and five children were unable to leave their beds to open the door for the doetor who forced a window and climbed through to the patients.
