SHIPWRECKED S. BERNARD

MADE INTO A GREAT PET. Cromer people have made a pet of a St. Bernard dog which was reseued with the crew of the Italian steamer Monte Nevoso, last Oetober, after plucky work by the Cromer lifeboat crew. The dog's name is Monte, and the lifeboat coxswain, Henry Blogg, received the Canine Gold Medal for saving him from the wreck. Monte was found on. the wreck after the rescue of the crew. Mrs. Burton, wife of a Cromer doctor, paid the quarantine expenses, and ..now Mr. Blogg has the dog in his possession. Monte is a great favourite with the lifeboat crew, a.nd will "shake hands" with his girl and women admirers. The dog is a pleasant reminder of the gallantry of Mr. Blogg, who is the only man who has twice won the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's gold medal.
