THE VERDICT

Auckland, Thursday. The hearing concluded of the petition for divorce brought by Kenneth Rahiri George Richardson against his wife, Mona Mary Richardson alleging misconduct. The jury found that no misconduct had occurred and the petition was di-smissed with costs against the petitioner. The case occupied seven days and was heard by Mr. Justice Smith, petitioner citing as co-respondent, Harry Reginald Jenkins, company director of Auckland and claiming £1000 damages. His Honour, in his direction to the jury, said that they had three points . to answer: (1) Did the respondent commit misconduct with the cO-res-pondent? (2) Did the co-respondent misconduct himself with the respondent? (3) What damages, if any, should be allowed. The jury retired at 4.20 p.m. and returned at 5.50 p.m. when they announced that their answer to Nos. 1 and 2 que-stions was "no." Mr. R. A. Singer, who appeared for the respondent asked that the petition be accordingy dismissed. His Honour: Yes, the petition is dismissed. Mr. Singer asked for costs on behalf of the respondent and Mr. Johnstone asked for costs on behalf of the co-respondent. These were granted in each case. . Mr. Singer: I have my clients instructions, sir, to ask whether you. will be good enough to hear her divorce petition to-morrow. I may openly put it that she wishes as soon as possible to' rid himself of her husband' s npme. His Honour said that an opportun- ' ity would be given for hearing the divorce petition to-morrow.
