By Telegraph— Copyrlgtit).
Dunedin, Thursday. Criticism of the conduct of recent public gatherings in the Dunedin Town Hall has been voiced during the past few days, and the matter was the subject of brief reference at a meeting of the City Council this ©vening. Mr. Allen said his attention had been drawn to unseemly conduct at entertainments and dances at the Town Hall ori two or three recent occasions. The conimitte-e allowed a limited quantity of liquor to be taken to these entertainments under supervision. There was drinking in motor cars outside the building, and this was purely a matter for the police. Xow that the attention of the committee had been called to the matter, it Would be doubly careful when it issued a licerise.
