CHILD PRODIGIES BANNED

FRENCH STAGE VETO. Child prodigies are not to be allowed in future on the French stage. This is the result of a decision by the Cabinet. Legally no child nnder 13 is allowed to appear, hut special ldcenses have frequently been issued. The Minister of Health and Puhlic Education have'reports that children on the stage are made to work for long hours without sufficient time for study. Hence it is now stated th'at no further special .permissions will be granted. Children working for the films are included, and many child "stars" will he affected by the decision, which has caused dismay in the kinema world.
