FEDERAL SURPLUS
Sytfney, Aug. 16. Addressing the Unite-d Australian Party meeting, Mr. R. A. Parkhill (Postmaster-General) stated the Federal surplus would be about £3,750,000, and! the amount would have been distributed if Parliament had been sitting and the Budget delivered. When the Budget was delivered it would be in the nature of reducing taxation to at least ' the amount of surplus stated.
