invitations to london for international conference ACTION BY LEAGUE
R'ugby, August 15. Following on the inte-rnational wheat discussions begun at Geneva on May 10 and continued during June and July in London, the League of Nations has invited 2 1 cbnntrie.s which are the chief importers or exporters, including Britain, the Free State, France, Germany, and Italy, to confer at London, on August 21. The invitation has been issued in the name of Australia, Canada, the Argentine Republic, and the United States, who have requested that discussions be held within the frame* work of the World Monetary and Economic Conference. The League will supply the service of an expe-rt secretarial staff. ^ It is concluded that the fact that the conference is being called indicates that an agreement has been reached among the. four big wheat producing countries on the limitation of production.
