CHILDREN'S PARTY
A JOLLY BIRTHDAY. A delightful children's party was given hy Mrs. B. M. Green at h,er home in Arawa Street last Tuesday to celebrate the eighth hirthday of her dapghjter Marie. Tq receive the guests Mrs.- 'Green wore an afternoon gown of lido blue gepyg.ette and black lace, while Marie was in a dainty frock of moss gre.en yejy.4A special feature of the party was the artistic decoratipns. The .spacious verandah had heen transfPrmed to repr.esep^t "F^lryland?* with 'grednery>]arge pastel-coloi|i(ed butterflies, streamers, balloons and paper rosettes. Tea was s.erved 'in th.e dining room, whioh was ga.y with spring flowers and foliage and each- child, complete with a paper hat to match her frock, presented a decided air of festiye jollity at the tea-tahle. jlyen the radio played an important part in the hirthday proceedirigs, for Ajint liolly announce,d from 2YA that if Marie looked' in the grandfather clock she would find several treasures awaiting fler. This news, of cpqrse, created great expitement. As 'a happy climaxr Mother Coose and Red Riding Hood made their appearance and .chatted and played with the small guests. Gompetitions were won durmg the ; evening hy Jean Fraer, Madge Bai - ber, Jackie Robertson and Noreen Forsyth. Among the small guests present were: Heathey Fenton, Joan Fenton, Madge Barher, Pappy_ MacArthur, Shirley Robertson, ■ Jackie Robertson Ina Kurney, Ida Harwood, Janet Harwood Noreen Forsyth, Lesley Ryde, Marjorie McLean, Fay Thomas, Yaler.ie Miller, Betty Rohinson, Jean Fraer, and Buckie McArthur and Peter Ludgate.
