MR. FORBES HAS INFORMAL DISCUSSIONS IN CANADA Rec. Aug. 15. New York, Aug. 14. It is understodid, the discussions which were concluded to-day for the time being between Mr. H. H. Stevens (Canada) and Mr. G. W. Forbes (New Zealand) , concerning the exiension of the Canada-NeAV Zealand trade treaty, have been of a most informal nature. Mr. Forbes before leaving en route foi' Washington said New Zealand wished to replace the present temporary trade agreement with a longterm pact in an effort to increase trade between the two countries.
