SPARK FAILURE

On some occassions an engine will develop a most mysterious misfire that eannot be attributed to the more usual faults — plugs, leads, and so on. If magneto ignition is used, a possible source of trouble may be the fact that there is faulty contact between the base of the magneto and the bracket on which it rests. This bracket may have become oiiy, and should therefore be cafefully washed with petrol, and the magneto then replaced. Care must be taken to tighten the bolts or strap holding the magneto in position as far as possible. It must be emphasized that although this fault is a rare one, it does occur sometimes.
