GRAND NATIONAL WEEK OPENS IN FINE WEATHER SIR GUY WINS AUGUST Christchurch, Saturday. The weather was fine for the opening of the August meeting of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club at Addington to-day before a good attendance. The track was heavy after rain. During the day the sum of £17,971 was put through the totalisator, compared with £13,791 10s for the corresponding day last year, an increase of £4179 10s.
