LATEST FIGURES SHOW there HAS BEEN A SMALL INCREASE Wellington, Thursday. It is estimated that the present population of New Zealand, including Maoris, as at June 20, was 1,537,363. The number of males was 783,738 and the number of females 753, 625. The estimated Maori population is £71,527. The estimated total population of New Zealand, its dependencies and the mandated territories is 1,600,809. During the quarter ended June 30, the population increased by 399 as against an increase of 288 in the corresponding quarter of 1932.
