New Plymouth, Thursday "I ffon't want to go to England. I want to go to Australia," said Edward Hewitt, .a native of Chesshire, England, who was found stowed away on the liner Matakana, and who was ■to-day sentenced by Mr, W. H. "jVoodward, S.M., to three weeks' gaol and t.o be pl.aced aboard the next Hpme-bound shjp of the Shaw Savill and Albion Coy. and returned to England. Hewitt hid himself among the coal in the bridge space and gave himself up a day after the liner put to sea. The vessel arrived at New Plymouth this morning.
