THREE RAILWAY MEN HAVE THEIR STATUS REDUCED THE B OWING ACCIDENT
-By Telegraph — Copyright).
Sydney, August 3. Three railwhy employees have been reduced in status as a result of the derailment of a mail train near Lithgow, following the Commissioners' inquiry into the accident. Since the Bowning accident there have been a number of small mishaps, and some Sydney papers are urging an in.quiry into the condition of the railways. It was recently reported that the Railwaymen's Unions were taking up the case of the officials who allegedly were responsible for the derailment of a train at Bowning. They considered that the inquiry was not altogether a fair one, and that the men were being made scapegoats for the authorities' shortcomings.
