PALMERSTON RESIDENCE ENTERED BY TWO MEN SMALL HAUL MADE

Palmerston n-, "Wednesday. A daring burglary occurred just before dawn yesterday at the residence of Mr. H- C. Morgan, bank aecountant, in Featherston Street. Two strangers were involved. ' On awakening at 5.30 a.m., Mrs. Morgan saw the outline of a man's form on the blind. She awoke her husband, who made a rush at the intruder, who raced downstairs and escaped by the front door, being joined by a companion. Subsequently a small purse was found empty on the fioor, with £6 missing. A fur coat which the intruder had taken from another part of the house was found over a chair. It was later discovered that the. telephone had been plugged. Mr. Morgan suffered bruises m a collision with the stairs in his chase after the intruder. Entrance had been gained by slipping the catch of one of the lower windows.
