FTOCK FvSARKETS FRANKTON A better tone prevailed t' the Frankton stock saie yesterday, and in a number of cases prices showed a marked improvement on last wcek's quotations. An average yarding of sheep wr.s offered, and sold under good demand at prices generally in advance of late rates. Wethers rose by about ls Gd, ; while ewes were about 3s better than j at the previous sale. Fat ewes made from 18s to 23s, extra heavy prime wethers, to 27s 6d; fat wethers, 20s to 25s; and hoggets, 14s to 19s. An average yarding of fat cattle came forward and here again values were firmer, ox beef advancing by about 10s a head. Heavy bullocks made from £6 17s 6d to £7 12s; I choice medium-weight, £5 10s to £6 | 10s, while the best young fat cows realised from £3 15s to £5, mediuin £2 15s to £3 5s and light £2 to £2 10s. There was a small offering of fat pigs and a large yarding of stores, and values were firm at late rates. Heavy baconers made from 38s to 43s; medium, 32s to 36s; good porkers, 23s to 28s; lighter, 18s to 22s 7 good stores, 18s to 21s; poorer sorts, 12s to 15s; slips, 9s to 11s; good! vvcaners, 10s to 14s; inferior, 7s to 9s.
