WEST INDIES CONTINUE MATCH WITH DURHAM
THIRD TEST TEAM London, July 31. The West Indians continued a match against Durham to-day. The home team batted first and made 256. The tourists in their first innings compiled 140, Woodhouse taking five wickets for 73 runs. Following on their score at the drawing of stumps was 29 for three wickets. The match was drawn. The Marylebone team for the third test will be : — Jardine (captain), Walters, Wyatt, Marriott, Hammond,- Ames, James Langridge, Verity, Nichols, Clark &nd Bakewell. Townsend is twelfth man. Sutcliffe is not fit. The Indian Tour The following have been invited to tour India : — Jaildine ( captain) , Walters, Valentine, Wyatt, Levett, James Langridge, Nichols, Verity, Townsend, Bakewell, Clark, Gregory, Paynter and Barnett. Holmes Not Wanted The Yorkshire Committee created a surprise by announcing that Perry Holmes will not be required after the end of the season. Holmes, handicapped by an injury, lias been in poor form lately. He and Sutcliffe scored more threefigure partnerships for the first wicket than any opening pair in history, including the world's record of 555:
