TRANSFER EFFECTED

GEYSER HOTEL MANAGEMENT CHANGES HANDS FROM TO-DAY MR AND MRS G. HENDERSON After seven years of control of the Geyser Hotel, Whakarewarewa, Mr. W. Galbraith will from this morning transfer his interest in the hotel to Mr. G. W. Henderson, of Auckland, who with Mrs. Henderson arrived during the week-end. Mr. Henderson has had 25 years' experience in the hotel trade and in addition to a number of visits paid to Rotorua is well-known in the Bay of Plenty district, having been licensee of the Commercial Hotel, Tauranga for a period of ten years. For a number of years he was also engaged in the hotel business at Okoroire and has had charge of the Ce-n-tral and Grand Hotels, Auckland, in addition to having been connected with the Ciuterion Hotel, New Plymouth, on two occasions. In each instance he has become well-known for his capable management and concern for the eomfort of guests visiting his house. A keen bowler, Mr. Henderson needs no introduction to players of the game in Rotorua, as when in business at Tauranga he many times visited Rotorua as a member of the Tauranga team which competed at the annual tournaments and which on one occasion won the competition. He is also keenly interested in all matters effecting horse rncing. Mrs. Henderson has also had many years' experience. in the xnanagement of hotels and is an ardent golfer having been a member of the Mangakeike-i Club, Auckland, for some years. Although many will regret the retirement of Mr. Galbraith, who for many years has commanded respect and popularity throughout the district, they will, however, be pleased to learn that in his successor he. has selected one who has had many years of experience and who will continue the management of the hotel on the high standard it has undoubtedly attained.
