MAJESTIC THEATRE

TO -NIGHT. There is no doubt about the laughmaking capabilities of "Money fpr Ndthing," which opens to-night at the | Majestic Theatre. From the first moment, when Jeff Cheddar, an unlucky gambler, dolefully descends the steps of the Casino at Monte Carlo, to the last, when he is saved from contemplated sujeide for the second time by the sight of a beautiful girl, it is laughter all the way. The early scenes are set in Monte Carlo, where Jeff Cheddar has been gambling without success. He meets beautiful Miss Joan Blpssom -in difficulties with her car, and in extricating her falls hopelessly in love. His violent protestations of devotion raise no answering spark in Miss Blossoip, and she sweeps away, leaving him flat. Seymour Hicks, as Jeff Cheddar, is the life and soul of the story, uproariously funny in his cheerful moments, and laughable even in his pathetic ones. Betty Stockfield, the beautiful Joan, is both decorative and amusing. In the second feature, Edmund Lowe, wh'ose love 'em and leave 'em methods with women became famous in "What Price Glory" and "The Cockeyed World," matches his strongarm courtship against the quiet, sloeeyed, but highly inflammable wiles of Claudette Colbert in "The Misleading Lady." The story promises all the elements of sure-fire entertainment, comprising generous portions of romance, thrills, action, mystery and comedy. Stuart Erwin is "Boney," the madman. Other roles of prominence are taken by George Meeker, Selena Royle, Robert Strange, William Gargan, Nina Walker, Fred Stewart and Harry Ellerbe.
