NEWSPAPER SAYS DOMINIONS HAVE CHANGED THEIR VIEWS CONFERENCE OF EXPERTS
-By Telegraph — Copyright)..
(Rec. 8.10 p.m.) London, July 28. Commenting upon the British Empire agreement, the Daily Telegraph says that it is most significant. It eonstitutes the most stable unit in the financial world to-day. Moreover other countries can still join. The British Empire has demonstrated to the world that there is a third choice between rigid adherence to the gold standard and the isolation policy of the United States, namely, sterling supported by the full authority of the Empire. The journal's correspondent add's j that he is in a position to state that the Dominion leaders, during ■the past 48 hours, have recognised that they are spoiling their own j chances as well as those of the ! British farmers hy flooding the market with their agricultural products. The Dominions have agreed that their experts should forthwith enter into a detailed discussion with the experts of the United Kingdom concerning each of the products involved with a view to determining what
proportion of the United Kingdom market should be assured to them. Failure to reach an agreement on terms considered fair by the British Government, would inevitably lead to the imposition of import restrictions by Britain designed to achieve that purpose.
