Auctionoer. pUBLIC SERVICE EXAMINATIONS FOR SHORTHAND WRITERS' AND TYPISTS NOVEMBER — DECEMBER, 1933 It is hereby notified that the usual Junior and Senior Public Service Entrance Examinations for Short-hand-Typists will be held on the 18th November. In addition it is proposed to hold the following examinations in the four main centres on the 2nd December. — Intermediate Examination: Shorthand 130 words a minute; typewriting 50 words a minute. Special Examination: Shorthand 150 words a minute; typewriting 50 words a minute. If sufficient candidates offer an examination for the purposes of the Shorthand Reporters' Act, 1908, will also be conducted in conjunction with the Intermediate and Special Examinations. This examination re^ quires a speed of from 150 to 180 words a minute in shorthand, with not more than one perce.nt of error in transcript. The fee for this examination is £2/2/- and application must also be accompanied by «vidence that applicant has attained the age of 21 years, and at least two testimonials as to character. Applications close 19th October, 1933, but late applications will be received up to 2nd November if accompanied by a late fee of 2/6 in addition to the usual entrance fee of 5/- for the Junior and 10/- for the Senior Examination; and a late fee of 5/- in addition to the usual entrance fee of 15/- for the Intermediate and £1 for the Special Examination. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED AFTER THE 2nd NOVEMBER. Full particulars may be obtained on application to the Secretary, Public Service Commissioner, Wellington.
