Masters and Sir Thomas Wiliaccepted an invitation through Jorner, the London manager of fruit Control Board, to attend an 3i sale of New Zealand apples. : Masters and Sir Thomas Wili aftenvards attended a compli~ary luncheon but Mr. Forbes had ir engagement. Masters, in rcplying to the s of his health, stressed the 3 of pcrsonal contact with the seting conditions in Britain. He -that he was pleased to see. that irice brought by the New Zea- - apples had been higher than sfor any others but even so, 3 costs, freight, insurance, etc., •0 deducted, the return made him isorry for the. grower. He was *fdto know that the control of Zealand fruit imports was seh capable hands, especially in Nto supplying the market with •®ost acceptable varieties. 1 Masters said that he would -•to reply to some recent critic-t-For instanee, New Zealand had 2 charged with sending subsid- ' Produce to Britain.
