School Games Yesterday teams fropi the Ngongotaha School played Rugby and basketball matches against the Mamaku School at Mamaku. The Rugby match was won by the home team by 12 points to nil, Ngongotaha wiiining the two basketball games 8 — 4 and 1 — 0. Games Postponed On account of the Rotorua and Bay of Plerity Hunt Club'faces being held at the Arawa Park on Saturday next, no Rugby matches will be played on that day. There will also bs no ladies' hockey matches. Motor Registrations Very little variation has so far been shown in the Rotorua figures of motor registrations for the current year, compared with those of the previous year, the totals at June 30 showing a reduction of only two in car registrations and an increase of five in motor cycles . The registrations of commercial vehicles are identical with those registered at the same date last year. The individual figures, with the totals of the previous year in parenthesis are: — Cars, 469 (471); comme.rcial vehicles, 319 (319); motor cycles, 60 (55). Carnival Work Further progress in the arrangement of the evening programme for the Winter Carnival week to commence in Rotorua .on August 28 ne.xt, was made at a meeting of the entertainment sub-committee of the Rotorua Borough Council Advancement Committee held on Tuesday evening. Sub-committee were appointed for the various entertainments and the following programme suggested for the we.ek: — Tuesday, August 28, combined Maori c'oncert; Wednesday, children's party; Thursday, community singing, concert and pictures; Friday, poster ba.ll ; Saturday, wrestling match; Sunday, combined band and vocal concert. Blue Bath Work Concreting work on the main entrance of the Blue Bath building was recommenced yesterday when half of the foundation of the vestibule was conereted. There are now nearly 20 men employed on the work which is expected to proceed apace with the regular suply of necessary materials. Generous Help Rain caused severe loss on the last Tauranga A. and P. Society's show. The loss amounted to £150, but as ■the result of an appeal to the public for help a sum of £143 11s lld was subscribe-d. This amount included the refund of prize-money and judg--es' expenses. The bank overdraft at the beginning of the year was £41 17s 9d and at the close it totalled £21 14s 8d.
