ANNUAL BALL large crowd attends enjoyable function at majestic ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS . The letters, P.S.A., outlined in coloured lights set amid verdant lycapodium was a feature of the ballroom decorations at the Public Service Association ball held at the Majestic last Friday evening. Fairy lights interwoven with ferns and other greenery, together with multi-coloured streamers, provided the principal decoration in the. ballroom, while the association's colours of blue and red were carried out in artistic design in the supper room. Much enthusiasm was displayed in the revival of the "Log Cabin" dance which the orchestra had included in its repertoire of modern and old time dancing. Among the modern portion of the dance music were included two monte carlos, the successful couple being Miss M. Sloane and Mr. G. White, and Miss M. Sloane and Mr. J. Edeskuty. An energetic committee had left no stone unturned to make the evening both a social and financial success and despite the rather bleak eonditions that prevailed without the ball was pronounced a most enjoyable function by all who were present. Among the ladies' committee present were: — Mrs. Fitzwilliams, who wore black lace; Miss England (wine satin beaute), Miss V. St. Clair (cherry sequined georgette). Others present included: — Mrs. L. Durirrg the evening a 500 card toui:7iament was held for non-dancers, Xirs. M. Fairley and Mrs. E. J. Carroll being winners in the ladies' section, and Mrs. Heley (playing as a gentleman) and Mr. W. Morrice wmi ning prizes for the highest scores^ in ! the gentlemen's section. Consolation trophies were won by Mrs. Dormer and Mr. Nixon.
